As we enter a new phase of growth, we would like to share a brief update on what has been happening at PANDABYTE, reflect on some key milestones from 2025, and provide a preview of what lies ahead.

A Strong Start: Our First Validators

May 2025 marked a major milestone for PANDABYTE with the successful launch of our first validator, PANDABYTE I. The response from the community exceeded all expectations. Thanks to the strong demand and overwhelming support, the community even encouraged us to launch a second validator.

With the same level of commitment and collective effort, PANDABYTE II was also successfully deployed. This achievement once again demonstrated how powerful an engaged and motivated community can be.

Introducing Traeky – Our First Tool

In 2025, we also released our first tool: Traeky. Traeky allows you to track supported cryptocurrencies, get automatically historical price data, and export your records as a PDF for documentation and reporting purposes.

Several important enhancements are already in progress:

  • Automatic resolution of IOTA Names will be supported soon.
  • Migration from local storage to a dedicated database, enabling easier and more secure data backups, allowing cloud backups via. Google Drive or other cloud provider.
  • Your profiles remain protected with your personal PIN, and CSV import/export via Traeky continues to be supported.

These improvements are designed to increase usability, reliability, and long-term data security.

IOTA Names and Our First Browser Extension

IOTA Names Resolver is currently undergoing testing for approval in the Chrome and Firefox stores and has therefore not yet been officially released. We will publish a separate blog post when it is released.

Since we are already on the topic of IOTA Names: this service was officially introduced by iotanames.com. Currently, usage is mainly limited to wallets and explorers. To expand its practical usability, we developed and released our first browser extension: IOTA Names Resolver.

The extension allows users to resolve IOTA Names directly:

  • Via a link such as https://example.iota (example only), or
  • By entering a command in the browser address bar, such as iota example.iota.

All associated information and metadata are displayed instantly. In addition, the extension can optionally redirect users automatically if a website is stored in the IOTA Name. This enables further use cases, such as using an IOTA Name as a digital business card or smart link.

IOTA Names Resolver is open-source and can be found under the following link: https://github.com/pandabytelabs/iota-names-resolver

Upcoming Improvements for PANDABYTE II

We have recently observed performance degradation on PANDABYTE II. To address this properly, we have decided to migrate the validator to a new provider and host.

This migration is intended not only to resolve current performance issues, but also to better prepare PANDABYTE II for future growth. The new infrastructure will offer increased resources and improved scalability.

Commission Update – Early Announcement

We would also like to share an early announcement regarding the commission of our two IOTA validators. With our current commission of 0.6%, we are aware that this places considerable pressure on other validators. Additionally, contractual obligations require us to remain among the lowest-cost providers (aside from 0% commission).

As upcoming changes in the validator ecosystem are expected, we want to proactively communicate that we will slightly increase our commission to reduce the gap toward 1%. While we cannot yet announce a precise value, we remain fully committed to never exceeding 1% commission. Our intention is to ease market pressure while maintaining long-term sustainability, and we appreciate your understanding.

Closing

We hope this update has provided you with a clear overview of what we have achieved, what is currently underway, and what you can expect next from PANDABYTE. We look forward to continuing this journey together and making IOTA even stronger in 2026.

A Personal Note

On a personal note, I (Nobody) would like to sincerely thank the entire IOTA community for the incredible support throughout 2025 and for the continued trust and engagement. I would also like to extend a special thank-you to the PB team for their outstanding work and dedication behind the scenes.
